Ten albums. This one is a milestone for AIrmin Van Buuren, and for me.
What keeps me coming back is how much a melody can do with very little. Two notes that won’t leave your head. A piano phrase that changes how you feel when it comes around again. A few words that mean more because the music gives them room.
This tenth album brings together 18 tracks that explore different sides of that feeling. There’s warmth, tension, playfulness and a darker edge. Piano leads trade phrases, a cello carries the weight of a chase, and three distinct melodic chapters find their way into one track. Some songs tell their stories through a voice. Others leave the whole conversation to the instruments.
Reaching ten albums matters to me. Each one has been a chance to make choices, try something unfamiliar and listen more closely to what makes a track worth returning to. This collection carries that work, along with the enjoyment that started it.
Thank you to everyone who has listened, shared a track or found a favourite along the way. I hope there’s something here you’ll want to hear again.
